WILLINGBORO SENIOR CENTER

In his prior endeavor, OCA's Principal served in the capacity of Principal-in-Charge for the renovation and conversion of approximately 16,000 square feet wing of the former John F. Kennedy High School, Willingboro into a Senior Center. Design for conversion of an existing wing of the old John F. Kennedy High School into a Senior Center was a challenging project. The original design concept developed by another architect called for classrooms to be converted into Program spaces while maintaining the existing corridor. The developed design concept took the approach of drastically converting the space and eliminating inefficient corridor by incorporating it as part of the program space. Careful articulation of the circulation with existing construction as well as program spaces resulted in the creation of dynamic spaces. Program components included Reception Lobby, Administrative Offices, Game Room, Arts & Craft Classrooms, Computer Classroom, Exercise Room, Game Room and Reading Area.
